To say I had a blast at Faire this past weekend would be a gross understatement. I haven’t had that much fun in years at a faire. So much new stuff going on, old friends with new acts on stage, a new queen, and one of the most kick-ass crowd of patrons I’ve ever seen. If you didn’t make it out, you missed some serious fun, including some great lulz.
Best one that sticks out in my mind was when we were performing Necrodance during our 2nd set on Sunday. It’s middle of the afternoon, and the hay bales are packed. Gogu asks for the audience to sing along with the “La, la la la la la, HEY!” They get into it. Then just the guys. Then just the ladies. Everyone is giving it their all, and then Gogu shouts, “Just the Hermaphrodites!” and all is silent except for one guy, who belts out 3 “la’s” and then stops, mid-clap, as he processes what Gogu had requested. I was laughing so hard I couldn’t keep the tempo.
And in the category of AWESOME, we had Lupo and Bongo from Lupo’s Loonies, and some of the boys from Cutthroat Reef come join us on our final set on Sunday, along with all our Gallows Girls. We must have had 11 or 12 people up on the stage, and there was standing room only in the seating areas. So. Packed.
I am completely exhausted, hence why even this post got delayed till the end of the day. I didn’t have any time to take any photos, so as they are posted by others, I’ll grab them and toss them up here and on the FB page.
