Mystery

Mystery

Music by Mat Greaves, Lyrics by Mat Greaves and Zach Cohen

I went to the market to visit some friends.
Perusing past all the traders selling all their odds and ends.
With goblets and tankards of varying size.
I spied a young gypsy girl with mystery in eyes.
A pale girl, and gorgeous, with black and flowing hair.
She lead me to her gypsy camp and there was music in the air!

Ya-da-da-da-da da-da-da-da-da. (x4)

She takes me, to woman, as blind as blind can be.
She deals out three tarot cards and says that they are for me.
The first was The Devil; my past was filled with pride.
Second was The Hangman; I was running out of time.
The third was the Two of Cups, I did not understand.
She lead me back to that camp, Where I heard that gypsy band!

Ya-da-da-da-da da-da-da-da-da. (x4)

She takes out two goblets and fills them with wine.
She takes a drink of hers, and then I take a drink of mine.
We sang and we danced ’till the sky goes blue to gray.
I now have to decide, do I go or do I stay?
Seduced by the music, the sights and the sounds.
Night falls, there’s music and there’s party all around.

Ya-da-da-da-da da-da-da-da-da. (x4)

Hey ya! Hey ya! Hey ya! Hey ya! (x4)

Everything goes quiet, not a single sound.
So weary from the dancing, I fell to the ground.
Gypsy girl approaches, puts medallion round my neck.
She looks me in the eyes, and everything goes black.
I wake up in morning, alone in gypsy tent.
No sign of my new found friends, no trace of where they went.
I still have medallion, I wear it to this day.
I travel and play music, I live the gypsy way.
Every night I sleep,I have the same dream.
I harken back to that night, where I hear those gypsies scream!

Ya-da-da-da-da da-da-da-da-da. (x4)

Hey ya! Hey ya! Hey ya! Hey ya! (x4)
