We Are the Walking Dead

We Are the Walking Dead

Music and Lyrics by Mat Greaves

Rolled into town, walked into the square
Everybody give to us a quizzical stare
One girl asked us “Why the sunken eyes?”
We replied, “We’ve already me with our demise.”

‘Twas many years ago, we were hung from gallows tree
But we all came back thanks to necromancy
That’s when Gallows Humor picked up instruments instead
We are the walking dead

We are the Walking Dead
We are the Walking Dead
We are the Walking Dead

Ra-ta-ta-ta Ra-ta-ta-ta walking dead
Ra-ta-ta-ta Ra-ta-ta-ta walking dead

Then before you know it we were chased by angry mobs
That’s when we decided we should probably get jobs
People might not think that we were so creepy
If we became productive members of society

(spoken)
Now as you know, it’s very difficult to find jobs in this economys
Especially when you are undead gypsy types.
Nevertheless, perseverance prevails.

Misha tried to get a job as lovely wedding singer
Instead she tore off both her arms and got job as bell ringer.
Pavel got a job as a wagon crash test doll
Selling gypsy wagons safely driven by all

Uncle Rasputin got a job working real estate
Selling lovely homes behind cemetery gates
And my sister Nadja got a job at a nursery
Scaring children half to death now they’re well behaved as can be

And I got a job in a theatre and since I’m dead
I can recite Shakespeare after pulling off my head
We are the walking dead (x8)

Ra-ta-ta-ta Ra-ta-ta-ta walking deaaaaaad
